Terms, Conditions, Refunds & Liability

By registering for or participating in a program offered by The Little Homestead, the parent or legal guardian agrees to the following terms and conditions.
Program Overview
The Little Homestead is a privately operated children’s educational enrichment provider. Programs may include homeschool enrichment, after-school care, summer programs, workshops, special events, and other hands-on learning experiences.
Activities may include horticulture, animal husbandry, arts and crafts, homestead skills, food preparation, outdoor recreation, and supervised interaction with chickens, rabbits, and goats.
Registration and Enrollment
A registration fee may be required to reserve a child’s placement. Registration fees are non-refundable unless The Little Homestead cancels the applicable program before it begins.
Enrollment is not complete until all required forms, agreements, payments, and emergency information have been received.
Space is limited, and submitting an application does not guarantee enrollment.
Tuition and Payment
Tuition and program fees are due according to the payment schedule provided during enrollment.
Families are responsible for paying all tuition and fees associated with the enrollment period selected. Failure to pay on time may result in late fees, suspension of attendance, or cancellation of enrollment.
The Little Homestead commits staffing, supplies, educational materials, animal-care resources, and program space based on confirmed enrollment.
Refund Policy
Except when otherwise stated in writing, the following payments are non-refundable and non-transferable:
Registration fees
Tuition payments
Deposits
Workshop and event fees
Supply or materials fees
Merchandise purchases
Refunds, credits, or prorated tuition will not ordinarily be issued because of illness, injury, absence, vacation, family emergency, transportation problems, behavioral dismissal, voluntary withdrawal, weather, or other circumstances outside the Program’s control.
Absences and Missed Days
Tuition reserves the child’s space and is based on enrollment rather than attendance.
Missed days are not refunded or credited. A make-up day may be offered only when the applicable program specifically provides one and space is available. Make-up days are not guaranteed and have no cash value.
Failure to attend does not cancel enrollment or eliminate the family’s payment obligations.
Withdrawal
Parents or guardians must provide any required written withdrawal notice stated in their enrollment agreement.
Registration fees and amounts already paid remain non-refundable. The family remains responsible for amounts due through the applicable withdrawal or notice period.
Program Changes and Cancellations
The Little Homestead may modify, postpone, combine, relocate, or cancel a program because of:
Insufficient enrollment
Staffing limitations
Instructor illness
Facility or utility problems
Severe weather
Safety concerns
Public-health conditions
Government orders
Events beyond reasonable control
When The Little Homestead completely cancels a prepaid program before services are provided, prepaid tuition for the unused canceled portion may be refunded. Registration fees remain non-refundable.
Approved refunds will ordinarily be processed within 30 calendar days.
Student Conduct
Students must follow instructor directions and treat other participants, animals, property, equipment, and the environment respectfully.
The Little Homestead may restrict participation, suspend, or dismiss a student whose conduct creates a safety concern, repeatedly disrupts activities, harms animals or others, or violates program policies.
Behavioral suspension or dismissal does not create a right to a refund.
Health and Medication
The Little Homestead does not administer routine prescription medication or over-the-counter medication.
Authorized emergency medication may be administered in a life-threatening situation when permitted by law and supported by the required parent authorization and emergency action plan.
Parents must provide complete and accurate information regarding allergies, health conditions, emergency medications, and participation limitations.
Assumption of Risk
Parents and guardians understand that hands-on and outdoor activities involve inherent risks that cannot be completely eliminated.
These risks may include:
Slips, trips, and falls
Cuts, scrapes, splinters, or bruises
Insect bites or stings
Exposure to sun, heat, rain, soil, plants, pollen, dust, or animal dander
Allergic reactions
Animal scratches, bites, kicks, or accidental contact
Injuries associated with gardening, cooking, crafts, tools, physical play, or uneven outdoor surfaces
Participation is voluntary. Parents and guardians accept the ordinary risks associated with their child’s approved activities.
Liability
The Little Homestead takes reasonable precautions to provide age-appropriate activities, supervision, safety instruction, and emergency procedures.
To the fullest extent permitted by Florida law, The Little Homestead and its owners, instructors, employees, volunteers, contractors, representatives, and agents are not responsible for claims arising from the ordinary and inherent risks of participation.
Nothing in these terms is intended to waive liability that cannot lawfully be waived, including liability arising from gross negligence or intentional misconduct.
Personal Property
Students should not bring valuable or unnecessary personal belongings.
The Little Homestead is not responsible for personal property that is lost, stolen, misplaced, or damaged during participation, except where responsibility is imposed by applicable law.
Emergency Care
In an emergency, The Little Homestead may:
Provide first aid within the scope of staff training
Contact emergency medical services
Administer properly authorized emergency medication when legally permitted
Contact the child’s parent, guardian, or emergency contact
Parents and guardians are responsible for expenses arising from emergency medical evaluation, transportation, or treatment.
Photography and Media
Photographs or videos may be taken during activities. Public or promotional use will be governed by the family’s separate Media Release and Photo/Video Consent Form.
Weather and Force Majeure
The Little Homestead is not responsible for delays, interruptions, closures, or program changes caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including hurricanes, tropical storms, flooding, fires, utility outages, pandemics, governmental action, civil emergencies, or natural disasters.
When safe and practical, activities may be rescheduled, relocated, or replaced with alternative programming.
Electronic Acceptance
Registering online, selecting an acceptance box, submitting electronic enrollment forms, or making payment may constitute electronic acknowledgment of applicable program terms and agreements. Florida law generally recognizes that a contract or signature cannot be denied legal effect solely because it is electronic.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida.
If any provision is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect.
