The Little Homestead
About The Homestead
A suburban Homestead
The Little Homestead is more than a place—it's an outdoor classroom where curiosity grows, creativity flourishes, and children experience the joy of learning through hands-on exploration.
Our suburban homestead provides a welcoming environment where students can connect with nature, care for animals, grow gardens, create with their hands, and develop practical life skills that they can replicate in their daily lives.
Every corner of the homestead offers opportunities to discover something new.
Connected to Nature
Nature is one of our greatest teachers. Throughout the year, students observe how seasons, weather, plants, insects, and animals work together in a healthy ecosystem.
By spending time outdoors, children learn to appreciate the beauty and importance of caring for the environment while developing observation skills, patience, and curiosity.
Our Learning Environment
Our thoughtfully designed homestead creates meaningful educational experiences through a variety of indoor and outdoor learning spaces.
Students have opportunities to explore:
Raised vegetable and herb gardens
Flower and pollinator gardens
Composting areas
Chicken coop
Rabbit habitats
Goat enclosure
Outdoor learning spaces
Nature observation areas
Creative arts and project spaces
Hands-on activity stations
Each area serves as a living classroom where lessons naturally come to life.
Learning Beyond Four Walls
At The Little Homestead, education extends far beyond a traditional classroom.
Instead of simply reading about nature, students experience it firsthand by:
Planting seeds and harvesting vegetables
Caring for farm animals
Observing insects and pollinators
Exploring seasonal changes
Creating handmade projects
Building practical life skills
Working together on meaningful activities
These experiences help children make lasting connections between what they learn and the world around them.
